Welcome to the Arlington County Council of PTAs (CCPTA). The CCPTA comprises local PTA units from 22 elementary schools, 5 middle schools and 3 high schools located in Arlington County. Organized under the authority of the Virginia PTA, our mission is to promote the goals of PTA - supporting and speaking on behalf of children in our schools, helping parents to be effective guardians and role models for their children, and encouraging greater parental involvement at the school level.

3	APS Advisory Council on Instruction The Advisory Council on Instruction (ACI) is the umbrella committee to which all of the curriculum-based/focused committees report. It assists in the review of the system-wide curriculum and instructional program, and in the development of recommendations for improvement in both. Over the years, it has spearheaded some important changes in the Arlington Public Schools curriculum.	172
4	APS Office of Special Education Arlington Public Schools provides a continuum of services for students with disabilities, preschool through high school, found eligible to receive special education services. The steps to identifying a student as eligible for special education services is a carefully managed process guided by State and Federal regulations.	129
5	APS Special Education Advisory Committees The Arlington Special Education Advisory Committee is mandated by the Virginia Department of Education Advises the local school division of unmet needs in the education of children with disabilities; Assists in the development of long range plans designed to provide needed services for children with disabilities	146
6	Special Education Parent Resource Center Welcome to the Arlington Public Schools Special Education Parent Resource Center (PRC). The PRC's purpose is to provide parents the support and information they need as they work with the school system to identify and meet their child's unique learning needs.	137
7	Non-Instructional Advisory Committees Ad hoc committees and task forces are established by the School Board for the completion of a specific charge in a designated amount of time.
