The CCPTA comprises local PTA units from 22 elementary schools, 4 middle schools and 3 high schools located in Arlington County. Organized under the authority of the Virginia PTA, our mission is to promote the goals of PTA - supporting and speaking on behalf of children in our schools, helping parents to be effective guardians and role models for their children, and encouraging greater parental involvement at the school level.
Our goal is to provide leadership, to serve, to assist and to act as a resource for local PTAs. We support our local PTAs by helping them to work more effectively in their schools and communities.
The CCPTA is governed by bylaws approved by the Virginia PTA. Local PTAs join the CCPTA as self-governing organizations, paying dues as described in the CCPTA bylaws. The CCPTA, National and VA PTAs are all directed by the same objectives and basic policies.
